Why Waxing?
Most people are fine to get any waxing done, unless they are on skin thinning
medication that you could be on due to acne. So always let your therapist know
of any medications that you are on prior to any waxing treatment. If you are on
any vitamin A products or acne products, it can thin your skin and when getting
waxed can take more than just the top layer of your skin and create a “burn”
when done.
Ingrown hairs are very common which is just the hair that grows underneath the
skins surface. To help with ingrown hairs you can exfoliate the area a couple of
days after waxing, making sure you do this at least once a week. You could also
use ingrown hair creams.
The reason waxing lasts longer than shaving, is because it is removing the hair
straight from the roots and is forcing the hair to start all over again. Taking about
4 weeks for it to be ready to remove again. Whereas shaving only breaks the hair
and gives the illusion that it grows back thicker.
With seasonal changes the hair does tend to either grow slower or faster. Usually
faster in the warmer months. So when booking your appointments, always book
at least 4-6 weeks after your initial appointment.
